Trailhead #4: Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum

Miles to Trailhead #3: 6.4 miles.

Users:
The section of trail west of this trailhead is paved for one mile to Washington Street. It is intended for non-motorized use during the warm weather months and is open to snowmobiles from December 1 to March 31. The remaining 5.4 miles to Trailhead #3 follows the DSS&A railroad grade, or Greenwood Grade, and is multi-use, meaning motorized and non-motorized will share the trail year round. This portion of the trail is not yet surfaced or upgrade and is accessible to ATV’s, walkers, horses, and fat tire bikes in the warm weather months. It is a State recognized snowmobile trail from December 1 to March 31. This trail section also has access to a fishing site.

Plans are to upgrade this section in 2013.

Miles to Trailhead #5: 2.1 miles

Users:
The 2.1 miles of trail east of the trailhead are paved and are intended for non-motorized users during the warm weather months. A portion of the trail is open to snowmobile from December 1 to March 31. From 3rd Street east, the trail is separated with the snowmobile trail staying north and the ski trail going south. This trail travels through downtown Ishpeming with many services available.
