Welcome to
the Trail

The Iron Ore Heritage Trail is a 47-mile, year round, multi-use, interpretive trail that crosses the Marquette Iron Range in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.  Call us the outdoor linear museum where you exercise your body and mind. Those who bike, walk, run, hike, ORV, snowmobile, cross country ski, birdwatch, and/or wander will find a section of trail perfect for your activity.

Iron Ore Heritage Trail Seeking Input for their 5-Year Recreation Plan

  The Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority is embarking on their five-year recreation plan. It is a guide for the Authority for 2023-2028. We are seeking the public's input on priorities for developing, managing, and maintaining the 47-mile, multi-use, interpretive trail across the Marquette Iron Range. Community members can provide input through the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/M9JDC69 Input will be collected through September 31, 2022 with a draft plan developed for public's review through December 31, 2022.
