Lakenenland Project Looking for Prime Professional

September 20, 2023

The IOHRA signed an agreement with the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund to partner on building a 5-mile, non-motorized extension of the IRon Ore Heritage from its current eastern terminus at Kawbawgam Road in Chocolay to the popular metal sculpture art park, Lakenenland.  The project will consist of building a separated non-motorized trail within the State’s DNR 100-foot railroad corridor plus add trailhead facilities including an accessible parking area, IOHT signage, bike racks, interpretive signage and bench.  The MNRTF will contribute $300,000 to the project.

The IOHRA is now seeking a Prime Professional to design the trail and trailhead, prepare specs and bid documents, and manage the trail build.  The RFP can be found here.  LAKENENLAND PRIME PROFESSIONAL RFP-combined
