New Events Announced

The Heritage Trail continues to serve as a venue for events.

On May 4, a “Just Believe” non-competitive 5K run/walk will be held on the Heritage Trail between Negaunee and Ishpeming.  It begins at 11 am at the trailhead across from the Negaunee Senior Center.  It is an event in order to raise funds for Melanoma patients.  Please contact Kurt Ball for more information at 475-5223.

July 11, 18 and 25:  The Michigan Iron Industry is planning to host Iron Ore Heritage Trail Bike Tours.  Scheduled for July 11, 18 and 25 starting at 10 am each day and running for 4 hours.  The tours will start at the Michigan Iron Industry Museum and follow the trail into Negaunee and Ishpeming.   15 miles but will be at a leisurely pace with stops at various places of interest.  Lunch by Midtown Bakery of Negaunee.  Registration required.   $20 per person includes lunch.  Call 475-7857 for registration or more information or email hendersont7@michigan.gov.
