There are a series of caches hidden along the trail between the trailheads  of Marquette towards Negaunee.

Heritage Trail 1 through Heritage Trail 41 (the caches) are all film cans, and all but two hang from tree branches that are about 5 feet off the trail. They start just West of Border Grill “Our Favorite Place,” and go close to the junction of CR 492 and M 35. Several other caches complete the trail to the junction. It is uphill all the way but the ride back is is a breeze, or you can start at the junction then is a fun ride down to the Border Grill! This section of the trail is about 6 miles long.
