Miles to Trailhead #4: 2.1 miles
The 2.1 miles of trail west of the trailhead are paved and are intended for non-motorized users year round. A portion of the trail, from 7th Street west, is open to snowmobiles from December 1 to March 31. This trail travels through downtown Ishpeming with many services available and also travels past some of the earliest iron ore mining sites in the region and some of the earliest buildings in Ishpeming dating back to the 1840’s and 1850’s.
Miles Trailhead #6: 1.5 miles
This portion of the trail is paved and is intended for non-motorized use year round. This portion of trail runs through “Old Town” Negaunee and Ishpeming and travels past some of the earliest iron ore mining sites dating back to the 1840’s.
A separate snowmobile trail/ATV trail is located to the south.
